Literally thousands of students will be descending upon the campus for the beginning of the year. Brothers and sisters will be returning from interstate and overseas, and Christians fresh out of high school will be arriving fresh-faced and looking for Christian community to hook into. All this means that we need to get the ANU FOCUS family together to to prepare for 2012! Make sure that you clear your diary for Friday 10th February, the Friday before O-week. We'll open the Bible, survey the contours of the year to come, and importantly also, making concrete plans for O-week. |

- *TRAINING* @ CHAPLAINCY. TUESDAYS 4PM Training provides an opportunity to learn more about the bible and how to apply it to our lives as Christians and as members of FOCUS. This term, delve into the details of running a bible study by looking at ‘The Art and Science of Bible Study Leading’ ($10 for booklet) or plunge into the mysteries of the cross by reading through ‘The Doctrine of Resurrection’ ($10 for booklet). Both courses will provide a great break from the rigours of study as well as a fantastic chance to grow as a Christian, whether leading or following. |

Lots of things happening! FAB Night: Come along for the FAB Finale of 2011. It shall be epic, with extreme sports such as (but not limited to) bocce, badminton, table tennis, frisbee, basketball, etc. Quite extreme. It shall be a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish of some description We'll be hearing a talk from the last chapter of 1 Peter, so make sure you can come along to finish off the series. When: October 24th, 6pm Where: Rachel's house. 114 Atherton st Downer (If you need a ride, call her on 0432654657) Guys event: Men's breakfast at dinnertime! A good chance to take a break from the desk work, and get your legs moving. Walk over to Black Mountain peninsula to feast on a hot breakfast, to make up for any that you may have skipped. With a talk from Ben Irving, the exercise will go nicely with learning from God's Word. |

Hi all, Just writing to you to remind you (and possibly even inform you for the first time) that our Annual General Meeting is coming up in just over 2 weeks. We're going to be doing a couple of important things: voting in a new committee for next year, and making a small but important constitutional change to allow for post-graduate students to be members of FOCUS. Otherwise it's going to be lots of fun and a chance to spend time together. Come at 6.30pm for dinner Love yous all! Dave |
