Things to get involved with

FOCUS is committed to getting students together to hear and understand the message of the Bible. We have theologically trained staff on our campus', as well as former students who give of their time and energy to serve the current students. Our great desire is that students come to understand the wonder of the gospel of Jesus, and joyfully devote their lives to serving His kingdom.

Main Meeting Each week we run a lunchtime meeting. Lots of things happen at our meeting, the most important thing is the Bible talk and the discussions we have afterwards that help us think through what the message of the Bible is. Our speakers are devoted to explaining what the Bible has to say and helping to apply it to our lives here and now. See the campus specific pages above for the times and locations.

iFOCUS at UC: Bible talk on Thursdays 4 - 6pm in 9B14 iFocus is a group expecially for international students where the Bible talk is presented in simple English.

Weekly Bible Studies We also have several small groups meeting in various locations each week. These Bible study groups are a great way to reflect further on God's message for us and to grow in knowledge and love of God. You can find the times on the campus specific pages above.

One to one Bible reading and Prayer Being at university gives you plenty of opportunities to encourage others in their walk with Jesus. One of the key ways that we see this happening on campus is through one to one Bible catch-ups. The idea of these is to meet to read the Bible and talk about it with another person. It's really encouraging to talk about what the Bible passage means and how it makes an impact on your life, and then to pray about it.

FOCUS In Training We are also keen to spend time being trained in how to read, understand and teach the truths of the Bible. Over the year we get together for various courses and workshops designed to equip students in sharing their faith and serving God’s kingdom.

Prayer Meetings We are able to have a personal relationship with our loving God and Father. What a privilege! Which means we can come before Him in prayer. At FOCUS, we are committed to prayer and so regularly gather together to pray.

Conferences Each year we encourage students to attend three key conferences. The Getaway (March 7-10 2009, at Tuross Heads) The Focal Point (July 14-18 2009) The National Training event (Nov 29 - Dec 2009) All are unforgettable experiences where friendships are forged and where God’s goodness to us in Jesus is deeply appreciated.

Missions Although all our FOCUS meetings are public meetings, open to all, we also have heightened evangelistic activity at key moments in the year. This is a chance for students to invite their friends along to hear the gospel for themselves and for FOCUS to engage the campus in the public space.
